ELEMENTS RELATED TO TODDLER GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT

Children are the next generation of the nation, therefore they need quality children to achieve a good future for the nation. Growth and development experience rapid increases at an early age, namely from 0-5 years. Factors that influence development can be divided into prenatal, natal and postnatal factors, while in general the factors that influence child development consist of internal factors (genetic) and external factors (environment). The Herlang Community Health Center in Tanuntung Village found a total of 250 toddlers, of which 1 toddler (0.15%) was deviant and 64 toddlers (10.2%) were doubtful and 185 toddlers (89.63%) were appropriate. The aim of this research is to determine the factors related to the development of toddlers in Tanuntung Village, Bulukumba Regency. The research design uses a correlational approach with a cross sectional approach. The population of this research is all 250 toddlers in Tanuntung Village, Bulukumba Regency in July 2023. The sample was 71 toddlers with the sampling technique used was proportional random sampling. Data analysis tests used the chi square test, continue correction and alternative Fisher's exact test. The results of this study show that there is a significant relationship between nutritional status (p=0.04), history of chronic disease (p=0.01), education (p=0.04), history of childbirth (p=0.03), stimulation (p=0.04) with toddler development in Tanuntung Village, Bulukumba Regency and there is no significant relationship between socio-economics (p=0.71) and toddler development in Tanuntung Village, Bulukumba Regency. Advice for health workers is to carry out early detection of children's growth and development by looking at the history of chronic diseases suffered and by stimulating toddlers for optimal development.
