Knowledge And Attitude Of Nurses In Implementing Patient Safety

Patient safety is a primary thing that must be done, especially with the pioneers of health workers working in hospitals because it is closely related to the quality of service in hospitals. Nursing is a health worker who should be equipped with knowledge about patient safety, so nurses must provide quality nursing services that are beneficial to patients in avoiding patient safety incidents. The purpose of this study is to see the description of the knowledge and attitudes of nurses in the Management of Patient Safety at the Faisal Islamic Hospital, Makassar. The type of research used by researchers in this study is descriptive, where this study will describe how the description of the knowledge and attitudes of nurses in the Management of Patient Safety at the Faisal Islamic Hospital, Makassar. The sample in this study were all nurses who were placed in the treatment room during the Covid pandemic at the Faisal Islamic Hospital, Makassar, which was 68 people. From the results of this study, the results of 68 respondents were obtained, 64 (94.1%) had poor knowledge, while 4 (5.9%) respondents had good knowledge. This may be due to the lack of training or seminars related to patient safety and the results obtained from 68 respondents 61 (89.7%) respondents had poor attitudes, while 7 (10.3%) respondents had good attitudes, this may be due to their lack of knowledge of the implementation of patient safety. Safe and quality services are also expected to increase public trust in the Hospital. For health workers, it can foster new values, especially the importance of implementing patient safety in every service activity provided.
