Abstract

Reference service is one of the main functions of the library that serves / presents a collection of resources to library users / visitors. Research service is one of the library services that can be utilized by visitors to find the information they need. Service activities that assist library visitors in finding information: Receiving questions from library users/visitors and then responding using the reference collection; Instructions for searching the source collection and finding the information needed; Providing instructions to users on the use of library materials in the source collection. According to William A. Katz, the focus of reference services is the production of answers to reference questions or information retrieval.
